Front Strut/Spring Combo Replace - possible? 200

I've read a lot of the strut replacement-related posts, but haven't seen this particular question answered, and it's not clear to me from reading the Bentley manual. Maybe it's obivous.

I have two cars. One with upgraded struts/springs and one with old ones. Is it possible to remove the entire assembly (strut/spring/strut tube) intact from one car and install it in the other car without disassembling everything? In other words, can I do it without a spring compressor and without taking apart the brake lines?

thanks.
