Wagon taillights

I'd like to improve the visibility of my car from the rear since the standard setup is just a 3in square fairly low on each side. My rear fog light works but I think its confusing to other drivers who may think its a brake light. To me it looks like I've got a bulb out on the other side.
My thought was to run a jumper wire from the rear fog light on the left to the empty socket on the right and then install #67 bulbs (10w as compared to 21w foglight bulb) so they would not look too much like a brake light.
Just curious if anyone else thinks the wagon light could use some improvement and what might work. Thanks for any ideas or experience.
