timing belt survey 200

I'd like to get a better feel for the failure rates of timing belts. I've seen some post of them breaking and it would consider the details benefical in determining a PM schedule. The 1993 is supposedly a stronger belt and can be used for 100K instead of 50K.

The data that would help is year Volvo, brand of belt used, number of changes, max. mileage between belts and did you ever have a failure.

This is my info.

1990 240, Volvo brand belt, 3 changes, max. of 100K miles, no failures.

Thanks
