Well, my baby got rear-ended this morning. Following a timid Corolla driver down an exit ramp to merge on the highway, and she decided to come to a full stop and contemplate her options... well I had little choice but to slow down, and one might have expected the driver behind me would have realized that two stopped cars and my brake lights flashing indicated the need for the big pedal, not the little one. No such luck, the dear girl instead opted to dive around me into bumper-to-bumper traffic but failed to see the truck beside her. She reevaluated her decision when he hit the horn, and plowed the passenger side of her Accord into the driver side corner of my bumper.
Well, the 740 did a heroic amount of damage to her car. Hood crushed, headlight demolished, fender buckled, grill smashed, and so forth. Total damage to the 740? A pencil-eraser-sized chip of paint missing just above the bumper, and several good-sized scrapes along the bumper cover. Didn't even dislodge the clips or damage the lower bumper trim; although the bumper shock did compress, it rebounded, and there are no ripples in the trunk. So long as I don't wake up with a seized-up neck in the morning, it's all good...
