worn out distributor 120-130

Our 66 , 009 Iron distributors lobs are almost gone. Its very time consuming to set the timing. The previous owner did a magnificiant job. It ran sooo smooooth.. Im having issues in getting the points set just right. We all know these things at this age ,,,, well you know. worn out lobes , slopy play etc etc.. So 3 questions of the day.....1. Can you buy new Quality distributors for this, is it worth it.
............2. Any tricks on getting the dwell just right..
............3. What about perlux, or crane ignition systems. do they really do the job accuratly, so i can get the same sweet spot neil had this unit idle at.

BEAR, 66 wagon, 67 wagon, 84 turbo wagon, ..
