Hi all .I just entered the brick yard today.I bought 1980 volvo sedan.I knew it needed some sort of fuel delivery attention. The previous owner found it after it sat for a lengthy time.Well I was driving it home after paying the guy for it.I stopped to pick up some motor flush, fuel system cleaner and an oil filter from my local Amsoil dealer.I got back in the car and no start not even one pop.So i had to leave the car at the Amsoil dealer. What I do see and knew about is a leaking fuel injector. It leaks pretty good, not a fountain mind you but its obvious.Mind you the car has been driven for a couple of months ith idle sputtering and one no start after hot by prvious owner(he said)new tune parts and fuel filter. He said he saw some seepage from the cold start valve.Im guessing the first thing is to change out the fuel injectors with proper seals. Then go from there. It dieseled when I shut it off also.previous owner said he pulled the injectors and cleaned them with gasoline then blew them out with compressed air.He said the injector that is leaking had a different spray pattern when he blew the gas out of it.So he stuck it into the no.1 cylinder for easy removal.he bought four injectors he got from a pull apart place.I figure its no use putting them in untlil I get the volvo specific seals.
Okay so would a single injector keep the engine from running?Im new here so I haven'tsearched for a diagram for my specific bosch k jet and its very hard to troublshoot without tools as i was at the point of break down....Thanks Rexall
