Post Starter-Replacement Charging Issues 900 1991

Since replacing the starter on my '91 940 SE (268K), I've experienced charging issues. At first I thought it might be a bad rebuilt starter, but I went back to the original starter and experienced exactly the same problem. The research I've done seems to point to a break in the positive battery cable or one of its connections. The alternator and battery have both been tested, and are OK.

The car seems to be running only on battery power, and when the battery finally gives out, first the ABS light illuminates, then the SRS light, then accessories begin to go dim and eventually the engine can barely run at all. Attempting to start it gives either nothing at all or very slow cranking.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
