Can a newer v70XC wagon compare to my 240 DL? 200 1990

The only new car to turn my head in the last thirty years is the Dodge Magnum. I even hunted one down to rent for a weekend to see what I thought about it.

Other than what I considered to be poor visibilty out the rear when backing I loved the car. Equipped with the larger V6 it performed alright but I think our 745Ti is a tad quicker.

I have driven Volvos for almost 25 years. I have had Volvo friends that have gone over to the dark side and love their 850's, but I am a RWD guy. I don't like the handling in a FWD and wouldn't want to try to maintain them to the degree that I do with our 240 and 740 cars.

I take a lot of teasing from friends who make car payments and spend a lot of money on their new flashy high tech rides, but I know they envy the relatively trouble free RWD Volvos we drive. I know the weak spots and maintain them to address those weaknesses before they bite me in the butt (most times). I also know what provisions to stock the box in the trunk with so that when I get a call with a car problem several hundred miles away from home I can do what has come to be known as a "fix by phone".

So when I get too old to roll around on the concrete and repair my own RWD Volvos I will probably look into picking up a couple of those Magnums for the stable.
