defroster not working on 91, 940GLE 900 1991

My rear defroster has quit on my 91, 940 wagon. I read through the forums and have the following questions:
1. Where is the relay located in this 91, 940. I looked at the relays under the radio/ashtray but the relay spot indicated by the 940FAQ is missing. Is there somewhere else I should be looking?
2. I want to check the continuity of the defroster strips. How do I get access to this. I see a black wire running at each edge of the glass. Do I strip the insulation?
