Yet another dead blower fan !! 200 1983

I'd pay someone to do this job, but I can't seem to find anyone that really knows the old 240s anymore. And I don't trust my local shop. So I'm about to embark on the worst job possible on a 240. After looking at the location of the blower housings, I'm considering the chain saw method. Right side looks easy , but the drivers side is a PITA. Can anyone tell me the diameter of the fan cage. I'd like to try to get it out w/o having to totally remove the front console assembly, pull the dash brace, etc. Is this possible using the chainsaw method ? Is there room to maneuver the fan out ?
