What do you think of electronic rust protection? 200

I just bought a Honda Fit for my wife, and the dealer is pushing their electronic rust protection. My gut feeling is that they don't do much. From what I have read this technology only works well when the metal being protected is submerged or in a very wet environment. Since cars are mostly dry it does not work very well. You can't get a straight answer from anyone selling the things, but I figure if they really worked everyone would be using them.

Just wondering if anyone has tried one of these. Canadian tire is selling one for about 200 bucks, and if it worked even a bit it would be worth it.
