Hello,

A new noise developed recently coming from the engine compartment of my 1984 244. Started about 3 weeks ago but it seems stronger now, evolving in the wrong direction.

It's some kind of vibration/rattle/rumble/groan, I really don't know how to describe it but some kind of low pitched brrrrrrrrr engine noise.

It does it at idle, or at least it's easier to hear it, and is present while on drive mode. Without moving the car, the noise stops on park or neutral, and not there in reverse as well (if it is there, then it's very faint).

Given the particularity that the noise is there at idle while in drive mode only, any idea where I should look?
