Front end clunk 200

1993 240 wagon with 102K (I think) - The front end makes a clunking sound at low speeds over bumps - only left side. I have replaced the left side strut bearing and inspected all the A arm bushings, ball joints, and control arm busings and found them to be rock solid. When up on jack stands all is tight and cannot make anything clunk by moving tire and suspension with lever arm under tire. My mechanic suggests replacing the strut cartridges for $170 per side, but I'm hesitant due to cost and potential for clunk to persist after strut replacement. I'm trying to sell her and don't want to invest huge dollars in finding clunk since handling, ride, and tire wear is all OK.

Any suggestions on what else to check?
