VOLVO 960 valves clatter when accelerating 900 1994

I have a 1994 Volvo 960 that the valves clatter when accelerating. When stating with the engine under no load and accelerating in park there is no clatter at all.It has 125,00 miles on the engine and I use Castrol Syntec 10-30 oil, high test gas and just had it tuned up.. I just purchased this car a month ago and am wondering if this is a characteristic of this engine with the miles it has on it.
Any help will be appreciated.
