780 no start 700

Hey folks,
I've got a puzzler on my hands. About two weeks ago, my '89 780 (B230ft) left me stranded in the Philly airport parking garage. (That's not fun) I had left it only a few days, but had noticed a new cold-start problem on the way up to catch my flight. It was our first really cold blast, so I figure there might have been some ice in the tank. In any event, I had to make my flight, so I eventually got it to start after giving it lots of pedal, but it had poor (and low) idle. Even after the trip to the airport at highway speed, it had a spotty idle. I parked it in the garage and hoped for the best. Alas, that didn't happen.

So I was towed home. I've added a can gas treatment--no help. Then I did some sleuthing on brickboard and replaced the fuel injection relay, and two radio suppression relays--on this car, they were in front of the battery. (Anyone know of other rs relays on this car?)

I've done the obvious checks. I'm getting spark, and somewhat wet plugs, which means that at least some fuel is getting through. I don't know yet about fuel pressure. Can someone tell me the best place to tap a pressure gauge into the fuel line?

One last clue: the platform that holds the fuel pump and filter was missing one fastener, so it was hanging down a bit. No harm seemingly done, though I will recheck the wires to the pump.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Tom in Delaware
