is ATE type caliper written cursive? 900

I finally got cold and wet with snow dripping off, yesterday afternoon taking off my rear wheel and looking for any markings on my brake-calipers as nobody including the dealers could tell me what kind my '93 944T has.
On the wheel side of the caliper I noticed some rusty markings in the casting. First I thought it said Pita but it seems it says Ate written in script/cursive type with a 12 and 1 under it.
Is Ate written that way on these calipers (does anyone have one laying around that shows this). If so, I know to order ATEs instead of the other type and go with 38mm piston, as I assume the station wagons have the 40mm pistons being a little heavier or must I assume that the Turbo due to performance have the little larger piston caliper or would there be no real difference as I'm not racing the car, just want it to brake good.
Thanks for your advise in advance.
