960 Head Gasket Problem 900 1995

I have a 1995 960 in great condition - recently I have been losing a small amount of anti-freeze and have rough idle for a few minutes when starting the engine. The amount of coolant loss has increased and the rough idle time has increased - no leaks on the ground. I brought the car to a service center and confirmed it is the head gasket. Hwoever, they are reluctant to do the job because of the cost and the amount of miles on the car. I would like to get the car fixed and looking for advice - are the chances high that there will be additional problems even after the head gasket is replaced? Any advice would be appreciated.
