Have to replace the speedometer cable -- advice? 200 1984

Volvo different from a 1960 Chevvy? Some, but my 1984 was similar to my 1947 Chevvy.

Depends on why you need to replace the cable? Core failing, or does the whole thing inclusing the sheath need renewal?

The tranny end of the cable is a PITA. It is in amongst the cooling lines, and tough to get a wrendh in there.

The speedo end is a little tricky, because of a security part. I managed to crack off a part, which made an entire cable replacement necessary. Best to get the instrument cluster out and up against the steering wheel so as to see what's going on in there.

Good Luck,

Bob
