940 SE Blower motors? 900 1991

Is there more than one blower motor on my 940? When I set the control to defrost and turn on the fan all I hear is the normal sound of air being moved, however if I set the control to the dashboard vents I hear a loud and extremely annoying zeeeeeeeeeeeee.

any help would be appreciated!
