tie rod installation 700

90 740Ti with ZF rack.

I have a new tie rod here to replace the bad one.

The inside end is just as smooth as it looked in the picture online. I don't know what I should use to grip it to tighten it. A pipe wrench comes to mind, but ... I don't like that idea off the bat.
Also I'm supposed to "stake the threads". I assume that means punch or bend them to keep them tightened to a certain point.

Any advice is appreciated.
