OD 4th gear switch / Solenoid 200 1979

As described in a thread below, the OD in my '79 242 has been acting funky.

The car has a M-46 Transmission.

The OD at this point has stopped working entirely. The light comes on, but now the OD no longer engages.

I'd like some tips on how to check the solenoid and how to check the 4th gear switch. My bet is that the solenoid is what's bad, as the OD had been a bit sluggish in engaging and disengaging when it was working correctly.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks as always.
