How many quarts of oil should I put into my 1994 940 turbo 900

Hi all,
Finishing up an oil change. How much oil should I put in the car? I looked in the manual and I believe it says the oil capacity is 4 quarts (maybe a little more for a turbo). I would have to double check this number because I don't have the manual in front of me. I am just going off of memory. But, I would imagine this number to be capacity and not actually how much you should put in.

I am really nervous about not overfilling. The last thing I want to do is over fill and blow out a seal. I already had a hard time with my drain plug due to my carelessness, so I just want to finish up strong without any mistakes.

What sort of techniques do you use when you fill up your car with oil so that you don't overfill?

Many thanks,

Laura
