For a stock B20B it's pretty hard to beat the stock KN needles.

If you have the older (& better) fixed needle dash pots, take the hat off the KN needle & sand a little of the knurling off until it fit's in to the piston easy. If you have the B18 PCV layout, I'd ditch the PCV valve & use a B20 nipple in the manifold instead.

If you do anything serious to the motor like a decently ported head and/or a bigger cam, I'd highly recommend going to stiffer springs in the dash pot & use a completely different needle profile. Volvo's first rally B18 effort used the D cam in the B18B with KC needles & stiffer springs.
