Bring her back to life! 140-160 1975

Sad to have to say it, guys, but my beloved '75 164 of only about a year is no more. The rear end has been smashed beyond my ability to repair, and I now have to part with this great car. She ran like a dream up 'til the bummer decided to take a tour of the undercarriage.

It's feasible that she could be repaired, I am uncertain as to the full extent of the damage to the frame, if any, but the driver-side rear quarter panel is pretty well deformed as well as the trunk. Not all that bad of a job, though, with a little elbow grease and enough time and money to straighten out or replace the sheet metal. All damage is in the rear, so no doubt you could find all the needed replacements off of a 240. I haven't been able to get her running since the accident. Turns over, just not getting any fuel, so my guess is either a bent fuel line or some loose/disconnected wiring to the fuel pump. It's not leaking, so the tank and line are at least intact. I have no doubt she could be up and running with minimal effort, I just haven't had the time or ability to get under there and see what really is going on.

Mechanically, she ran nice for me. Transmission and block are solid and smooth with no leaks. Ran and shifted better than my '95 Neon from before. Brand new plug wires, distributor cap, battery, left and right steering rods, idler arm bushing, rear muffler and a bunch of new exhaust pipe, window and flasher relays, and even some fresh oil. The interior is in pretty decent shape. Seats are great (small tear in the passenger seat), and the console and dash are all intact beside a small crack and some tape or glue residue on the dash which you could probably get off with some cleaner (never got around to trying). She'd at least make a great parts car for any siblings out there looking for some help.

I wish I could keep her and fix her up when I had the time and money, but I just don't have the room or the means (or even a heated garage) at the moment. If you're interested, let me know. I'm hoping to get at least $500 for her so I can make up the difference for my replacement car. I'm located in the Twin Cities in Minnesota, and if you want her, you'll have to arrange to pick her up. I will not part her out, and if I can't find a buyer, I'll probably just bring her up to the farm where she'll sit and wait and rot with all the other project cars.

I've got pictures if you're interested. I can take more of the interior and front and whatever else... just gotta dig her out of the snow first. Reply here or contact me via email at carpoolcue@gmail.com. Don't let this great car rot away! Bring her back to life! I'd love to see her on the road again.
