'95 960 Water Pump quality & Brand Selection 900

I have two acquired a '95 964 and I have found that it is not as easy to get the Volvo water pump at a reasonable price. I am finding that the cheapest I can get the Volvo pump for is $144.

I am seeing Meyle and Hepu pumps for $50 to $70. I ordered a Volvo pump from a place and found that they substituted a Meyle. When I called them on this they claimed that the Volvo pump was on 'national backorder'.

I called a Volvo dealer in Houston who does internet type sales and got the $144 price.

I then opened the box on the Meyle pump and saw that the impeller design was different than the Volvo pump is. I felt a little uncomfortable with that.

Could anyone make some recommendations on on pump brands vs quality?

The Hepu pump appears to have the same impeller design, but again I am not so comfortable with compromises on a water pump that is driven by the timing belt.

Any testamonials on water pumps?
