There's no problem with the port mismatch -- leave it alone.

Your absolutely right, taking any metal out of the 2x SU manifold's runners is about the worst thing you can do. Where they need metal removed is in the plenum area which does need more volume on anything bigger than stock.

For some reason, many people use ATF in there, which is almost always too light

I can't help but think that using thicker oil in the dash pots is nothing more than a band aid to cover up some other problem.

Stock standard B18B's & B20B just don't have any flat spot to begin with, so thicker oil must be masking some other problem like leaking throttle shafts, poor fuel with lower BTU's, etc.
