Front suspension work 200

I'm going to be replacing the front shocks/struts on my 245 (1988) and would also plan on doing the front bearings, possibly some of the bushings and maybe the some of the replaceable linkages-tie rods, ball joints. So does anyone out there want to provide some words of wisdom.

Let it be known that I have enough mechanical apptitude to have done the rear shocks, replaced the timing belt, and several other doings on the car, but when it comes to using spring compressors and possibly other specialized tools, I want to make sure I prepared and know what I'm doing before diving in.

And lastly is this something I can do without much problem, or should I consider enlisting "professional" help.
