1989 740gl wagon starting problem 700 1989

i have a 1989 740gl wagon non turbo, it wouldnt start so i unplugged the AMM then it starts right up and sits idle as long as you dont touch the gas. if you plug up AMM it shuts off. if you let the car warm up and plug up AMM it runs great til it cools off again. i have replaced the AMM 4 times this week with bosch AMM's from autozone still same problem. also there is a little sensor/regulator on drivers inner fender with 2 yellow (1 dark/1 light) vacuum lines one is plugged into throttle body the other is unplugged and i dont no where it goes any help is appreciated.
