122 Horn Contact 120-130

I have a 1967 122S 4 door sedan and I have a bit of a strange problem. As the horn was not working I worked my way through the circuit and dismantled the horn mechanism on the steering wheel. There was no wire running up the steering column as a previous owner had cut the wire between the horns and the steering box. I also found that the insulation in the horn ring on the steering wheel is worn out. I ran a new wire up the steering column and I think, based on previous posts on this forum, that I can repair the horn ring. However, there appears to be a part missing. How does the wire in the steering column normally make connection with the top of the horn ring? Previous posts seem to refer to spring loaded electrical connector of sorts connected to the horn wire at the top of the stearing column. This part is missing on my car. Does anyone know where I might find a replacement?
