I have an alternator with nearly seized bearings. The alternator I have is a genuine bosch, but I can't find the part number. The label has been removed, probably because the alternator I have isn't a 120Amp alternator and Kruse Lucas didn't want it to be obvious (like they removed the engine ID tag).

I went to pick and pull twice this weekend and couldn't find one that did more than 80 amps. This is only 2/3 of 120 I "should" have.
The owner's manual says that between the turbo and Normal engines, there should be a 120 vs 100 Amp alternator. I don't understand why. The accessories should be almost exactly the same. Is it so the alternator has fewer problems or something because it's not operating at full load?

Either way, I'm looking at a rebuild now because I think everything is fine but the bearings. If I thought I could really use an 80 amp though, I would.

I have a 90 740ti. I have only seen 3 90/91 cars at PnP ever and I've seen about a hundred volvos there. I was lucky enough to find one today, but it was NA and had its alt. pulled.
