The fuel pump in the 240 is a "pusher-pump", it can not suck fuel out of the tank. If your fuel line comes out of the top of the tank like the 240, then you need an in-tank pump to get fuel to the fuel pump. If your fuel line comes out from the bottom of the fuel tank, then you need only the main pump.
