My 240 update.. potentially VERY bad development 200 1989

Even a couple of 100watters will be OK, Lay them under the car. Put cardboard around the car or anything to keep the wind from blowing under the car. That should help a bit.
They sell Dipstick heaters but I don't think you need to buy one for this one-time deal.

That will heat the oil in the pan and heat will rise up enough to keep the block from freezing.

Cranking the engine with a hard freeze is very bad for the water pump. the fact that it turned might be a sign that the block is't HARD frozen. that's a good thing.
