PCV freezing?!? S90-V90

Hey guys,

I was thinking; What happens if I get rid of that white flame trap thing? What is the purpose of that anyway, some sort of filter/screen? If I remember correctly they are often removed on B230s... Well, it was -20C this morning and when I got to work it didn't seem as though the PCV had frozen this time. While I was getting ready for work I put a blow dryer under the hood aiming at the PCV box, but I don't think it did much as it was so cold. Anyway, when I arrived at work I could smell oil, but I'm pretty sure it was residual from yesterday (I didn't open the hood). It certainly wasn't steaming like yesterday morn... If it's this cold tonight, I'm going to see if I can take another car to work tomorrow...
