Performance Upgrade for the S90 S90-V90

There is not much you can do with a chip in a normally aspirated car.
The only thing is to advance the timing and richen up the mixture, maybe.
Remember you already have to run premium gas, according to the book.

The early cams add top end power at the expense of some low end power.
Adding a turbo or two to an engine whose compression ratio is already high is an exercise in learning how detonation can blow up the engine. Check out the CR on the 5 cyl engines. The low boost engines have less CR than the NA engine, and the T5 high boost engines have even less CR. Of course if you added oil squirters and low compression pistone, the results would be impressive. So would the price!

I do agree that ensuring the intake has no restrictions and no hot air coming in would help. Avoid the "cold air intake" accessories, because you already have one.

17 inch wheels can be very heavy. That equals slower acceleration because they have to accelerated up to speed. And if the circumference of the tires is more than the stock tires, that causes slower acceleration as well.
