740 flooded 700

Can anyone offer suggestions as to what would cause a 740 to flood? I went to start my '87 NA 740 wagon the other day and it would barely start. I had to floor the gas and keep cranking, and it wouldn't even stay running. All of the plugs were wet, so I cleaned them and it started fine. Maybe a leaking injector or temp sensor would cause this?

Thanks,
Dave
