It WAS the U joints! BC was right! 200 1991

Here is the beginning of the tale.
http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/index.htm?id=1138671

The noise went away when I changed to snow (smaller dia.) tires, but came back a few weeks ago, as my daughter so gracioulsy pointed out. It was so cold I had no motivation to look at any more, so I said, well let's just wait, eventually it will go so bad we'll find it (or it will break). Fortunately she takes her Dad's humor in stride. It was a bit warmer last weekend so I put it in the garage and crawled under, twisted the drive shaft, and there it was click, click and movement at the rear U joint.
SO BC was correct.
Oh, the old U joints had no grease fitting, the new one (FCP-GRroton)does.
Now if I could just figure why no OD.............
