Oil pressure reading using OBDii 900 1997

1997 960 Wagon
Like another poster recently, I've noticed my oil light stays "on" a fraction longer at engine start. I really don't want to pull the pan to replace the pickup seal unless I absolutely have to. I've searched, but can't find details on how to install a mechanical oil pressure gauge on the B6304 engine.
In any case I was thinking that a PC-based ODBii tool would let me monitor oil pressure in real time and also be useful for future error codes and other cars. Is oil pressure one of the parameters that can be monitored on the ODBii as implemented by Volvo? Can anyone offer any current info on specific tools like ELMscan 5, or other recommendations?

Thanks,
-Mike
