Testing the 'other' fuel pump 200 1991

My car has taken to stalling after running for awhile. It is exactly like when my fuel filter was clogged a few months ago. Changing the filter fixed it (it was very full of gunk).

I checked the filter this time, beautiful clean gas came out both ends so I know that its not the filter again. I can hear the pump in the tank buzzing along nicely. While I had the second fuel pump and filter assembly out I ran a couple of jumpers straight off the battery to the terminals on the 'other' pump and got nothing. Switched the wires around from negative to positive, still nada.

I guess that it would be that pump. Are there any other more conclusive tests I can run to confirm this?

thanks in advance.
