Hey Folks
I'm now a month without my '89 780 (B230FT). It has had lots of problems that seemingly cropped up at once, with the cold weather. I've changed the fuel pump, pressure regulator, FI relay, radio suppression relays, and cleaned the hell out of the throttle body, intercooler, turbo hoses, oil trap, and IAC.

The basic problem is now a stall after the car is warmed up. Idle and driveability is fine when cold, but about 5 minutes into driving it stalls at lights and won't restart unless I give it lots of pedal. Cold start seems to be fine, but this may be misleading since I've only tried to start it twice in the last month, basically after doing the FI repairs. Plugs look absolutely normal after the warm stall phenomena. I do know that my turbo is blowing some oil, but wouldn't think that, with everything clean, it could foul the intake within 5 minutes.


The IAC shows 21 ohms between 1 and 3 pins, and 42 between 2 and 1 or 3. According to my info, this is correct. I don't know yet whether it is getting 12v at the 2 pin.

Will the car run without the wires connected to the IAC? Can anyone think of another diagnostic (besides yanking the ECU)? I'm about at the end of my tether.
