How much space between the fan and radiator? 120-130 1967

1967 220 wagon, B18.

I got this car with Karl (sorry, no Taz photos were taken) out in Philly. The car was supposedly in a front end accident, has new fenders and a possibly new nose on it. My question is, the fan and radiator look a heck of a lot closer than I've seen on any of my other car. The fan is about 1/2 an inch from the radiator. It is the stock 4-blade fan, mounted on the stock pulley. No spacers. No room to put a spacer in!

How close is your fan from your radiator? I'm wondering if someone put the front end on wrong, somehow, to get them too close together. The mounts on the engine look very tired, however it looks like new mounts might bring it closer to the fan?

Your help is appreciated.

Jim
