new idle air control diagnosis/question 700

Hey...me again. Same '89 780 (B230ft) stalling-when-warm problem.

But now I have new information. The Idle air control valve continues to buzz even after the car stalls, with the ignition still on. Is this normal? Is it a stuck valve, with the motor still trying to move it into position, or could it be the ECU trying to tell the valve to lean out, perhaps from some other input--oxygen sensor, water temp, etc.????

This is really stumping me. Car still starts OK (not easily, though) and idles fine until it is warm. I've really worked it over, so I've eliminated FI relays, pump, and regulator as candidates. Good news is, I'm really learning about my car.

Thanks...sorry for going to the well so often this week.

Tom
