How to do Clutch cable adjustment in M47II 200

I have had this stiff 1st issue for a long time . I have not tried the clutch adjustment so far and may be that may help a bit.

I want to know how does one adjust the clutch cable for 1990 wagon's M47II transmission.I have done some home work . I have some idea that it is adjusted at the fork on the transmission where the clutch cable connects to it .

Main confusion is how to check the slack .
Should it be done by lifting the clutch pedal (I think I have read here that there is difference between 1990 and earlier clutches) .

How much the slack should be ?

All the help will be appreciated
Regards
