Loose hub= broken what? 140-160 1974

Thanks guys,

what is it with me and axles? (rhetorical, but I'll entertain theories)

In any case, I should have pulled the rotor but I had a lot going on. I did not see any grease; but I was pulling on the suds with the rotor loose and that's how I isolated the play from the brake. it's both, probably, but at least I have spare rotors.

naturally the shaft on the axle I pulled from the '70 had the same problem so I can't just trade them. But, would a pre-74 shaft work anyway?

however, no worsening of the noise on a <30mph turn in either direction; as loud as the exhaust is I should have heard it as the car is humming splendidly smooth after a tune.

Hmm.
