Coolant Leak B20 142E 140-160

Finally got the 142E running after putting in an electronic ignition. Living out in the country has made it very difficult to find the 7/8" plugs to fill the injector holes. I still have one or two places left to check on the plugs.

After running the car, it is evident the coolant leaks, but the point of origin is not evident. The inside of the car is dry.

It seems to be running down the engine side of the firewall on the driver's side and then meanders it way to the left chassis support and drips from there. There is a little pool after running the engine or driving it. And, when the car is parked at a slight incline, the coolant runs to about the midpoint of the chassis and then drips. Even without the car running, the coolant still drips.

Has anyone replaced the metal tubing that juts through the firewall. There are several seams on that tubing that may leak. However, a visual and touch inspection indicates the seals are dry. Other suggestions? The hose clamps are tight.

If the car sits for several days, it will lose about 1/2 cup of coolant. Ideas to troubleshoot the leak are appreciated.

Thanks,
David
