My experience with aftermarket headlamp lenses; late 960, S90, V90? 900 900

A couple of weeks ago I posted a message asking about this.

Fortunately Paulii posted an answer suggesting that I check LampsandLenses.com.

They did not show any headlamp lenses on the web site, so I called them and it turned out that they had them earlier but had gone out of stock and a nes shipment was due in a day or two. I had them ship me a pair of these for $150.

I removed and rebuilt the headlamp assys with the new lenses and I must say that they are outstanding lenses. I was delighted to find that they were an E-Code lens, which is, IMO, superior to the DOT design beam pattern. Although the OEM DOT lenses were pretty good as far a DOT lenses go, these aftermarket E-Code lenses are even better.

The lenses come with new clips and a new seal, but the seal is a strip rather than a ring, and looked like it would be a very tight fit in the headlamp assy. I also liked the original elastomer better than the aftermarket seal supplied, so I used the original ring seal renewed with some Sil-Glyde.

I wanted to post these findings for those who are interested in alternatives to buying new headlamp assys at ~$300+ each.
