no headlights... 120-130

As of last week, my headlights up an quit on me on my 'new' p220 project... the Haynes manual is all but useless... I've triple checked the bulbs, wiring, fuses and light switch... The brights work only if I pull on the wand... any relays I should be looking for? Any ideas?
