IAC valve 900

Hi all,
1991, 940SE Turbo. I am chasing the rough idle situation for a while. The Idle Air Control (IAC) valve is shiny clean, but how I can check its operation. The chilton manual says to measure the resistance and it shows three pins on the IAC and the corresponding connector. But the car has an IAC which has only two pins and the corresponding connector. Please let me know how I can test it for the resistance or voltage. I measured the resistance of two pins of the IAC that shows 9 ohms.
Thanks
Ram
