Distributor question 200

On the 1979 B21 engine, manual tranny, used in the 242GT, is the distributor vacuum operated? I know there is a vacuum pod attached to it but does it actually function? I thought this was the Chrysler/Volvo ignition, but now that I look at it closer I appears not to be. The inside of the distributor appears to be the breakerless type ignition used on later models. Also, there are 4 wires attached to one side of the coil and 2 attached to the other side. Thanks..Max:>)
