Warped rotors - Bendix brand brake parts - good, OK?; or lack of backing plate? 200 1990

I need to do front brakes and a local supplier has good prices on pads and rotors - $15 for the pads, rotors for $16 ea. The brand name is Bendix, which I thought used to be a good name and standard on American cars. I used these rotors 2 years and 20,000 miles ago and they are warped, bad luck, bad brand, or could it have to do with the fact the brake backing plate rusted away (NE Ohio salt!). Thanks
