Screeching AC clutch when first engaged! 700

'87 745 B230FT M46 Memphis TN

It popped the relief valve dumping an unknown quanity of R-134 and oil while I was running it in the garage last Fall. I added one can of R-134 and have not used the AC much since.

I checked the voltage and it's shows 12V+. Jumping the clutch when not running it has a positive sounding clunk, (sounds normal to me?)

Could the clutch be failing or have I overcharged it? I don't have gauges and usually have some type of failure that requires a complete 3 can recharge.

Seems to be OK after I rev it a bit and no loss of interior cooling.

The compressor is from the pick and pull and I put an additional 300,000+ on it.

No serious resistance when turning the compressor by hand.

Thanks for any ideas!
